6 graphic works by Italian artist, sculptor, architect and poet of the Renaissance epoch Michelangelo Buonarroti (1475-1564). The artworks are preserved at the “Casa Buonarroti” museum, which, along with Michelangelo’s other masterpieces, houses more than 200 preparatory drawings and manuscripts, images, sculptures and rich archeological collections possessed by various generations of Buonarroti family.
Michelangelo, recognized as the greatest artist of all time, thanks to his outstanding virtue and masterful technique, alternated with the widely crusted artistic principles and for good gained a solid ground among other geniuses.
The National Gallery will showcase graphic works performed by Michelangelo in 1508-1510, during his work on the Sistine Chapel (1508-1510).
Visitors will have the possibility to view the graphic details, including the hand from the fresco “Creation of Adam” and figures from the fresco “The Fall of Man and the Expulsion from the Garden of Eden”. The exposition will also incorporate multimedia, as well as the screening of the film “Journey to Discover Michelangelo.”
